Headline Books Signs Award-Winning Author, Marc Curtis Little
Former Broadcaster/PR Agent Pens New Novel
Terra Alta— Headline Books signs national award-winning author, Marc Curtis Little, and will publish his new book, The Bootlegger’s Mistress, Spring 2020.
“I had the privilege of meeting Marc Little in Washington, D.C. at the American Library Association national conference this past June and we are fortunate to have Marc join the Headline family,” said Cathy Teets, President of Headline Books. “His new novel, set in 1930 South Carolina during the black migration north, follows a woman who, as a girl, was forced to help a moonshine dealer keep track of the profits from his illegal enterprises. Her rise from abject poverty to prominence is a riveting read.”
Marc began writing professionally in 2008 and his award-winning books include, Don’t Blink When God Calls, Angels in the Midst, Magnificent Redemption, After Obama, and Faithful Servants. His book awards include multiple Indie Book Awards and an Indie Excellence Award.
Marc grew up in a working-class neighborhood in the South Ward of Newark, NJ where he attended public schools. He graduated from Los Angeles City College with a degree in Broadcast Communications and began a career in radio and television. Marc achieved high listener and viewer ratings at a number of media outlets as an on-air performer, sportscaster, talk show host and programming director. Along the way, he earned seven Billboard Magazine radio awards and recognition from other notable industry publications.
Marc’s career continued as he founded a nationally recognized public relations and advertising firm, serving clients in the fields of commercial business, politics, entertainment, and sports for twenty years. He also volunteered his time to the community as an appointee to boards and commissions in governmental and non-profit sectors, garnering recognition from more than 100 organizations across the country.
“I still have several ‘wants’ on my to-do list,” Little said. “I want to lead a revolution to get people reading more, especially middle age and older adults. I would like to create a television series, write a screenplay for a movie, and produce a Broadway play. Earning an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy and a Pulitzer Prize are also on that list. And if none of it happens,” says the Newark, New Jersey native, “I am very proud of the accomplishments I’ve achieved and grateful for the blessings I’ve received in this very exciting life.”
Although Marc is officially retired, he occasionally acts in Community Theater and serves as a fill-in radio announcer. He lives with his family in Jacksonville, Florida.
